Fire & Safety Guard (with education)

About the job
You might have seen them: big tanks in the petrochemical industry. Ever wondered what the risks are for the employees that work there? What the consequences are, when a fire breaks out, while there are people working inside these tanks? That is exactly where a Fire & Safety Guard is responsible for.
Everybody can go to work safely, and everybody returns from work safely in the end of the day.
That is an important job. And that job can be yours, when you sign in for our unique training program, that will start in february/march 2024.
Essential Functions:
- Watch out for fire hazards in the workplace while work is performed by other employees
- Maintain the conditions and requirements stated on the safety permit
- Keep flammable materials from ignition sources
- Stop operations if you find any hazardous condition
- Maintain constant means of communication
- As much as possible, keep visual and voice contact with other employees
- Inspect the entire work area and look for potential release of flammable vapors or liquids
- Never leave the job site while the work is being done. If you have to leave, stop the job and notify workers that you are "standing-by-for"
- When all operations are done, do not leave the worksite unless you're sure that there are no hot sparks, burning embers and other fire hazards.
Workdays and times
In this job, you are going to work full-time in Rotterdam (Botlek) in different shifts, including days, nights and weekends.

We offer you:
- A salary from € 14,75 gross per hour, excl. allowances on your wage for working in different shifts. You will receive an allowance from 110% till 150% on your wage for night/weekend shifts. The salary is weekly paid.
- You do not have to pay anything for the courses that you are going to follow.
- A permanent contract at the company, when you make yourself irreplaceable.
- Car agreement if necessary. We are happy to tell your more about the agreement.
What do we ask of you? (requirements)
You are always calm, under any kind of circumstances. Safety is always your number one priority and you perform at best in an job where you can use your great sense of responsibility and estimation.
You may be required to work in confined spaces or from high heights. While performing duties of the job the you may work aloft, climb, bend, pull, and reach overhead, stand/walk for long periods of time. It's important that this is no problem for you.
Besides that:
- You need a valid drivers license.
Don’t have a car? No problem. We can help you out with our special company car agreement. - Your knowledge of the English language is very good or excellent: speaking, writing and hearing, so you are able to follow the training for this job.
- You are flexible. Working in evening-/night-/weekend- or day shifts? No problem for you.
